Tomatis® =listenining = communicating=Processing
When communication between the ear and the brain is blurred, our ability to interact with the outside world is compromised. The result is often a loss of self-confidence that will present difficulties in communication and learning.

Listening
In the processing of information, the ear plays a fundamental role as it is the main gateway to our brain. It picks up on surrounding sounds and those of our own voice, converts them into electrical stimuli, and transmits them to the brain which analyses them.
The Tomatis® Method stimulates the brain effectively and naturally. Clearmind Neuro offer a number of therapies that this technology will compliment.
By working on the reception and integration of sound through your ears, the Tomatis® Method help to stimulate your brain and minimize listening challenges. This is done by creating links between psychology, anatomy and physiology. Our integrative model approach.
The Tomatis® Method relies on advanced technology offering personalized listening sessions through a unique technology called TalksUp®.
The listening programs changes the music and voice in real time in order to capture the brain’s attention and to develop motor, emotional and cognitive skills.

Music and The Voice
The brain is especially sensitive to sudden changes that it cannot anticipate. So, while you would ignore the next door neighbour’s dog barking for the hundredth time, you would jump if the dog suddenly bark. Sound is vibration, when it travels through the air, we use the term air conduction. Sound travels even better through the bones of the body, this is called bone conduction. From about the 18th week of pregnancy, the fetus is able to hear. The fetus hears the voice of the mother through bone conduction vibrations via the spine of the body. The mother’s voice is therefore one of the main sources of fetal sensory stimulation until birth. We have two hands, two eyes and two feet. You can be right or left dominant for each. The same is true of our ears. One is dominant, which means that it is processing the information faster than the other one. That might be because the connections of the right and left auditory pathways within the brain are really different.
The auditory feedback loop is the natural process by which we perceive, analyze, assimilate and continuously adjust the information individually received and produced through sound. Implementing the Electronic Gating® and parameters in this loop requires the brain to cope with a modulated voice feedback and creates a strong sensory workout. This is called an active listening session. The voice filtered through the Gating® helps to restore the entire auditory system.
Language
Your voice can change when you are overcome by emotions. In such situations, you need a few seconds to restore your normal voice. This is because the auditory feedback loop is disrupted, which means that your brain is not able to correctly analyse the sounds of your voice.
Attention
Attention is the capacity to select and maintain awareness of an exterior event or a thought. Attention disorders affect both children and adults and involve an inability to focus and sustain attention. The goal is to help the brain develop automatic mechanisms for detecting changes, which will consequently reinforce selective attention.
Motor skills and Balance
Optimising the vestibular system’s potential The ear not only receives sound but also determines your balance, rhythm and coordination. Balance depends on the vestibule, the part of the inner ear that informs the brain of the slightest body movement.
Dynamism
Over 80% of sensory stimulation comes from your ear. Whether you’re awake or asleep, your ear is constantly bombarding your brain with stimuli. From the fourth month of pregnancy, the fetus ear is the first fully functional organ. Stimulating the ear ensure cortical energizing. The ear need to be stimulated to energize the brain and the body.
